What should you do if baby cries before going to bed? Babies need sleep to grow and develop well, but sometimes they cry because they can’t settle to sleep by themselves. A few tears at bedtime are standard operating procedure for most babies,  but can be challenging for caregivers. So what should parents do if baby cries before going to bed?   Good sleep is important for the babies’ health and immunity. But if the babies can’t go to sleep without crying first, consider these factors: Feeling of Uncomfortable. A wet or dirty diapers and illness will make your baby uncomfortable and harder than usual to settle. Hunger. Babies cry when they are hungry and can’t fall asleep. They are overtired and has trouble settling down at night. Overstimulated. A bright, screens and beeping toys can result in overstimulation and the urge to fight sleep. Separation anxiety. The clingy phase kick in around 8 months and may result in tears when you leave them alone.
